The New York Tenors at Carnegie Hall with The Magic of Christmas
Only ten days to go to until the fat guy in the red suit turns up so it’s time to ramp up the jolly factor. A good start would be spending a couple of minutes here with The Magic of Christmas celebration put on by The New York Tenors at Carnegie Hall last Thursday December 10, 2015. The New York Tenors are native New Yorkers and have become local favorites as the festive atmosphere at and around the venue attested.
Andy Cooney, who has been a stalwart of the Irish-American music scene for decades and may best be known for his floating party, the Cruise of Irish Stars, is from Long Island (Massapequa). Christopher Macchio – the youngest member of the group – studied at the Manhattan School of Music and also grew up in Long Island. Daniel Rodriguez has studied with Placido Domingo and may be known to you as the Singing Policeman, is from Brooklyn.
All of these three gentleman held the audience rapt while performing individually but when they shared the stage and blended their voices together, it was truly magnificent…
