Dearest Bald White Man,
The look of the new website has great energy, and your story has not fallen upon deaf ears. I shall tell the villagers in the neighboring tribe, and soon the tale of Bald shall fill the minds of humans everywhere as they lie down for sleep. So long, and thanks for all the fish. By the way, you wanna park here? Fine.
Eric, just found your address from linkedin. I checked out your site and was very impressed man. Great stuff! The Holland Tunnel is solid man! Be well my friend.
I met Junior in 2010 at the Terra Blues Club and was fasinated by his playing and fanship of Jan Akkerman. In july 2012 i arranged a meet and greet between Junior and Jan at the North Sea Jazz Festival, where Heritage Blues Orchestra played in the Congo-podium, and they became friends forever. I’m very proud to tell everybody that Junior and Jan will play together at my venue Heyhoef-Backstage in my hometown Tilburg/Holland on May 9 2015!!!
Not happy at all that it’s only Thursday and ALL the RSD 2015 Releases are on EBAY for 4x the price of what the stores should have it for. I’ve been tracking the same sellers for over a week now and they keep adding to their sell list. So this is either a store looking to cash in big time or someone with close ties to a store that already has the items in hand. Jeff Beck – Hi Ho Silver Lining single for $99.99? Sinatra 10″ ep for $99.99? c’mon now, where is anyone looking out for the collector? Nowhere, everyone is out to line there pockets. I have no local record stores, I have to travel and for me to get on line at maybe 4am to get what I want and find out it’s gonna be sold out before I get in is ridiculous. thanks fore letting me vent, i’m glad Paul Weller wants no part of this after what happened last year. I think all the other artists should back off now too. Thank for letting me rant, i’m seriously pissed off and still debating whether or not to waste my time.
How did you make out today Jim? That’s really grim about scalpers rearing their ugly heads. I know the drive of the collector but I hope the celebratory and the communal aspects of the event shine through. I got out to Rough Trade again and caught the Saun & Starr set and it was a cool, crowded scene there.
Laura Marling. Wow. SO glad I was at the Town Hall show last night. For someone who barely knew her music, I was completely captivated by, and in awe of, her talent.
I’m late to the party — but better late than never, as they say.
This sounds fantastic. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit with my school night schedule, especially since I live in upstate Manhattan. But if any of these fab folks ever want to do an uptown version, I’m all ears.
Yay for Larkin Poe! I met them back when the eldest was 21 and their little sister was in the band. They were the Lovell sisters then. So Happy they are on WFUV..
The new album is definitely what this summer needed… or this decade. The mix is great… The songs are solid. I think its the best D Gen record overall. It will be hard for them to ever have a song as good as No Way Out in my mind, but as a record over all, this is best in my opinion. I hear T rex, Cheap Trick, Replacements, Some Rolling Stones influences. The Guitar tones sound great, alot of hooks.
Keep those Wolf and Geils stories coming Eric. Next time you speak to Wolf please ask him to open the live vaults and to come to Holland (!) in Europe. I definitely need that cure!
greetings,
Johan
I heard Tom playing Cannonball Limited in the Club 47 (Palmer St) in the winter of 1963. Great then; great now! That one, and Urge for Going (a few years later) are my favorite Tom Rush performances.
Hey Eric, first time here !
Cool site man .
Will check out your favs that i dont know of so far !
Want to wish you and family a happy holiday and Happy New Year if we dont hear from each Other before hand ! Again so sad to hear about Rita sounds like you guys had a special bond .Good news is we are moving forward booking gigs at Tallman Pool in Sparkill NY!
Just got off the phone with Bob Lanzetti of Snarky Puppy – Gave him a date to work with as we move forward with a everything goes as we hope kinda schedule. PS – here is my break out artist and song of 2020 – Becca Stevens “Charlemane” Hope you dig it!!! All the best , Mr Lee
Mr. Lee! Sorry I didn’t see your comment for a while. Cheers for taking a peek at the site and that’s brilliant about revving things up at Tallman Pool. Nice one on the Becca Stevens tip too. Dug it!
Hi Eric – great DJ. Thanks for playing the wonderful Kirsty MacColl/In These Shoes? The Brits have a wit in their music that Americans just don’t seem to get – at least not in a big way. So how about a little love for 10CC? Easily one of the best bands of the 70s. A lot more to them than I’m Not In Love and The Things We Do For Love.
Dude! He lives! And thrives, from the looks of it! Get in touch, I’m looking for B&B (Billy&Bettina) – one of my sons wants to move to NZ…omg… dude, would be nice next time in NY or Japan, or here!!!! Greetings from Switzerland, Pamela Biondo
Dearest Eric, My name is Eric as well. I am wondering if you would be interested in joining an Eric Holland club I am making. No worries if not. Thanks!

He is also a Grand Master level scrabble player.

Sheila
Nothing like some Chris Botti at the Holiday time…so puts me in the mood for so many good things…Happy Christmas to a fellow Oregonian….Cheers.
Yep!!
Thanks for your reporting on this cultural event downtown!
You’re welcome!
The January 24 show was the catalyst for the epic snow storm predicted for NYC so I guess I’m saying Joe Binamassa to Radio City Music Hall by storm!
He sure did! Thanks for checking in!
Best band in the entire world. I have so much respect for them and the rest of the world needs their dose of the struts!!
This band will be immense! Musical talent, great songs and one of the finest performances I’ve seen. Bring entertainment back to rock!
so Bjork..why not come to Boston and do a secret show at my art gallery..in Cambridge..it’s just not your normal kind of gallery…
Is there more of this?
There is more Julia, I’m sandbagging it until the next time Laura comes to NYC…
Dear All-Knowing Dude,
I’ll give FUV an extra contribution if you have any inside info about Prince’s Hit & Run Tour in the NYC metro area.
Not-too-proud-to bribe,
Carla
And yes! Your new site has broken the sound barrier of cool. A giant leap forward for dude lovers everywhere.
That’s got to be my favorite comment ever Carla – thanx!

My favorite grunge era song is Would? by Alice in Chains coincidentally shown in your video clip.
Nirvana’s Bleach will always be my favorite.
Cosmic Psychos – Dead In A Ditch
The drony “Outshined” by Soundgarden is my pick
I’d have to go with Once by Pearl Jam!
To je úžasné !
Just saw them in Minneapolis & they were absolutely fabulous! I loved the chemistry between the 2 of them! The whole place was shakin!!!
Excellent –
This sounds wonderful Micky – can’t wait to hear it!! Great article!!
Here’s my Money!!!

Cloistered Carla
David is a legend. I’d love to see Buster Poindexter at The Allen Room. That would be fabulous.
Would that get you down from the Cloisters!
I knew Eric back in the day when he had hair! Reconnect with me my Hawaiian DJ friend.
Your pal, steve sawyer
Yay for Larkin Poe! I met them back when the eldest was 21 and their little sister was in the band. They were the Lovell sisters then. So Happy they are on WFUV..
Loved this show!
Not surprised. Peaches was an awesome contributor at the Stones tribute show at Carnegie Hall 3 or so years ago.

As you say Kevin – they nailed it!

Johan
Will do Johan – excellent to hear from my namesake country!
Vinyl, vinyl and more vinyl! Still plenty of us out here that grew up in the CD era that buy music folks. How bout some CD exclusives as well?
My favorite band. Love the music! Page is a real down to earth guy. Seen then countless times in Boston over a 25 year span. Keep rockin!
They never disappoint!
Even though I don’t know these guys, gotta love that he played with Bowie and titled the album Dead to the World. Especially as Christmas approaches.
Thanks for the season’s indulgent round-up, Eric. The Lou Reed collection is the most enticing to me, but even so, not sure I’ll take the plunge!
If you’ve got a turntable Carla, the Reed wax collection (vol.1) – a half dozen great albums – is a tasty way to go and not so overwhelming!
Terrific! Can’t wait to hear the new compositions. Will there be any smaller shows in the Boston, NH, VT area?
I heard Tom playing Cannonball Limited in the Club 47 (Palmer St) in the winter of 1963. Great then; great now! That one, and Urge for Going (a few years later) are my favorite Tom Rush performances.
Sounds spectacular – bet it was a barn-burner!

Eric is the best bald DJ on the radio . Rock on Mr Dude
Yeah. We could definitely be friends. One of the best lists I’ve seen

Hey Larry, Thanks for the kind words and glad the shoe(s) fit! I’ll see if I can’t surprise you with a good pick from 10CC before long –
…and coincidentaly, Graham Gouldman, of 10CC, co-wrote Treachery with MacColl, for the same album, Tropical Brainstorm.
Dude! He lives! And thrives, from the looks of it! Get in touch, I’m looking for B&B (Billy&Bettina) – one of my sons wants to move to NZ…omg… dude, would be nice next time in NY or Japan, or here!!!! Greetings from Switzerland, Pamela Biondo
…and holy cannoli, STEVE S…! Where in the world have you ended up, my large blond friend???
