<p>Pop.1280 has nothing to do with pop. &nbsp;<a href="http://pop1280.tumblr.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">They</a> are named after the excellent Jim Thompson novel Pop.1280 which is a reference to the population of a small Texas county that a homicidal sheriff presides over. &nbsp;Ivan Lipp and Chris Bug, who were childhood pals around Worcester Massachusetts, started the band about 8 years ago in Greenpoint. &nbsp;Their first full-length was called <em>The Horror </em>in 2012. &nbsp;Among other ins and outs, they added Allegra Sauvage who helped write the charmingly titled follow-up <em>Imps of Perversion&nbsp;</em>in 2013. &nbsp;Now they&#8217;ve unleashed <em>Paradise&#8230;</em></p>
