HERE you go! The fabulous Thao and I in a conversation airing on WFUV tonight (at 8 on 90.7 FM and WFUV.org) and a generous 3 songs on video: Astonished Man, Departure, and Guts…which the woman has shown plenty of on her latest record A Man Alive.
So ends the spring of Thao & The Get Down Stay Down in which, he said with a grin, I got to speak with Thao twice and see a handful of live performances at SXSW in Austin and then at Webster Hall in the East Village and finally at FUV in the bronx. My only regret is not getting the chance to buy Thao a Brooklyn Brewery product after she modeled my cap! Sounds like a mission for the future. In any case hats off to her and The Get Down Stay Down who provided a memorable soundtrack to the season.
