The North Mississippi Allstars are a genre bending interracial four piece best known for Tony Soprano's favorite driving song Woke Up This Morning.

The Dickinson brothers' Dad was a Memphis producer, Duwayne Burnside is RL's son, they use a washboard and Alex Chilton's old amp, and they've sampled Mississippi Fred McDowell. They're touring behind their third album Polaris which isn't as cool a title as their first album Shake Hands with Shorty but their songs continue to be rootsy and hip. Neither trendy or retro.
